“Finance, Business and Natural Capital – Integrating Biodiversity into Economic Strategies for a Nature-Positive Transition”

17 September | 9:30 - 16:30

The conference “Finance, Business, and Natural Capital – Integrating Biodiversity into Economic Strategies for a Nature-Positive Transition” will be held on September 17, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at Associazione Civita in Rome.

The event will bring together representatives from European and national institutions, the financial and business sectors, and international experts to explore the role of natural capital and biodiversity in economic and financial strategies.

The morning session (9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) will feature institutional opening remarks, keynote speeches by international experts, and panel discussions focused on integrating biodiversity into corporate strategies and financial systems. Topics to be addressed will include European and international frameworks, practices for measuring and managing impacts on nature, and the obligations and opportunities for businesses in light of the guidelines set forth in the National Nature Restoration Plans, which will be presented in September 2026.

The program will then continue in the afternoon with the presentation of case studies and corporate best practices (2:30 – 3:30 p.m.), including examples from the worlds of business and sustainable innovation.

The day will conclude with a participatory session (3:30–4:30 p.m.) divided into working groups focused on developing concrete recommendations to accelerate the transition toward nature-positive economic models. This will be followed by an informal networking session.

The conference is organized by the Nature Positive Network—an initiative of the Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Po River Basin Authority—in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Italy and with Materia Rinnovabile as media partner. The event will be held in English and Italian with simultaneous interpretation.
